How To Catch A Whale Shark
These creatures can be found anywhere in the ocean. This means that you don’t have to stay in Moosewood. If you have a boat or have enough to purchase one from the Shipwright NPC (which you can do after completing two quests), you can sail and try your luck anywhere in the ocean!
Whale Sharks love shrimp, so make sure to use that as bait when trying to catch one. They can also only be found in the daytime during clear weather, in both summer and autumn. You can use a Sundial Totem to change the time and day, so if it’s night and you want to catch one quick, I suggest you use one. You can find these on Sunstone Island, and they cost 2000C$ to purchase.
Best Rods To Use
Now, let’s talk rods. As the Whale Shark is mythical, it’ll be one of the hardest to catch, so you’ll need a strong and sturdy rod. The Kings Rod is a great choice, as it has no limit to the weight it can catch, and it also gives you a 55% boost in luck. Another solid choice is the Nocturnal Rod. This can hold up to 2,000kg and gives you 70% luck!
