The Cult’s Curse has befallen us all! It’s… actually not nearly as bad as it sounds. This event has a little fishing area, a limited bestiary of pretty messed-up looking fish, and big rewards for global milestones. But if you want to fill out your bestiary, there’s one catch that may prove the biggest problem, and that’s the Fisch The Whispering One. This thing is a pain to get, so we’re going to try to make life a little easier with some info, hints, and tips.

You can play Fisch now on Roblox. If you’re eager to hear more about where to catch these weird fish, maybe take a look at our Fisch Cults Curse bestiary.

Fisch The Whispering One Catching Guide

Let’s talk about the facts surrounding the fish first, then we can talk about how to catch one.

About The Whispering One

The Whispering One is a fish in the limited Cult’s Curse bestiary. It has the following preferences.

  • Preferred Seasons: None
  • Preferred Time: None
  • Preferred Weather: None
  • Preferred Bait: None

It averages at around 3000kg, so most mid-range rods should have no problems in terms of the weight requirements.

Should be easy to catch then, right? Not exactly. The stand-out feature of The Whispering One is the enormous 95% progress penalty, making reeling one of these things in a reel, I mean real battle.

How To Catch A Whispering One

You can only catch The Whispering One in the special Cursed Pool in the Cult’s Curse Room. This was unlocked by players catching 285.7 million fish to unlock it, and it’s got plenty of valuable catches to justify the effort.

So here are a few tips we found that let us hook the Whispering One a few times, and catch it once.

  • Luck will help you hook the fish quickly. We played with a big universal Luck boost active and hooked a Whispering One first time. Aim for a high Luck rod, and bait that increases Universal Luck, not Preferred Luck.
  • With the massive progress speed penalty, you need to look for good Control and Resilience stats with your rod. Control increases the size of the bar in the minigame, while Resilience makes the fish leap around less.
  • Be ready for the long haul, even without losing progress, reeling this in takes a while. Make sure you won’t need to step away for at least a few minutes.
