Fisch Sea Mines Guide

Ordinarily, you wouldn’t want to interact with a Sea Mine as they’re prone to blowing up, however, in the depths of the Desolate Deep, it’s almost an honourable task to clear the waters of these catches. And, despite not being alive, the Sea Mine isn’t considered a Trash item thanks to its Mythical rarity status overriding that.

How To Catch A Sea Mine

First, buy plenty of Crab Cages from any island local to your spawn point! The area where Sea Mines reside won’t provide them for you (I made this error back when I first travelled to Vertigo…)

Now, travel out past Sunstone Island towards the red buoy, purchase the diving kit sold here and plunge into the depths. Or you could get the cheaper equipment from Moosewood, but you’ll have less oxygen allowance and therefore less room for error.

Once surfaced in the Desolate Deep, drop as many Crab Cages as possible into the waters. There isn’t an exact hotspot, so as long as you stay in the general vicinity you’re in for a chance of finding one.

You’re likely to find Trash and low-grade fish, with players estimating an average of 1,000 Cages before uncovering a Sea Mine… However, we do know that the Sea Mine prefers Clear weather so at least there’s that.

The Cheat To A Sea Mine Catch

To increase your odds of trapping a Sea Mine in a cage, speak to the Merlin NPC who resides in the hut atop Sunstone Island and ask for Luck. In exchange for 5,000 C$, he will bless you with a Luck boost for 10 minutes which significantly increases your chances of finding a Sea Mine since your rod luck boosts don’t apply to dropped cages.
