First let’s talk about the serpent itself, then go into our tips on how to get one.

About The Northstar Serpent

The Northstar Serpent is a Limited fish of enormous size and considerable catch difficulty. According to its in-game bestiary entry:

“The Northstar Serpent is an insanely large and menacing sea serpent species. They have a long and spiny body, with bioluminescent fins throught it. Near their heads, they have six large tentacle-like appendages, which are spun in a screw motion to move at incredible speeds. Attempting to catch the Northstar Serpent will almost always result in catastrophe, those who are capable of hooking and catching such a formidable beast are truly legendary anglers.”

How To Catch A Northstar Serpent

So how do you become one of those legendary anglers? Well, proper preparation is crucial.

The Northstar Serpent is found in the waters around Winter Village, which is accessible through the snow globe item. Its preferred weather is Fog, and its preferred bait is Holly Berry. The tricky part of catching one is that it is rare, has a massive weight of 20,000kg or more, and it slaps a huge penalty on your progress speed at 90%. Any attempts to reel in this monster are a marathon, not a sprint.

For these reasons, a good rod is all but essential. Ideally it should be one with no weight limit, and good Reslience and Control stats. Good Luck is helpful for getting the serpent on the hook in the first place. We’d recommend the following rods, depending on what your budget allows you.

  • Rod Of The Forgotten Fang
  • No-Life Rod
  • King’s Rod
  • Steady Rod
