About The Lunar Mutation
The Lunar mutation is a new mutation that came into effect with the Depths Expansion update. This mutation is pretty interesting for its ability to impact not just the fish you catch, but other fish as well. When you catch a Lunar fish, you gain the Moonlit Bonus. This gives a 5% boost to the catch weight and value of the next fish you catch. Even more cool? This boost can stack, so the more Lunar fish you catch in a row, the bigger the bonus becomes!
This may also be handy if you’re planning to go for a specific high value fish, as you can get even more value out of it with the bonus.
How To Get Lunar Fish
The Lunar mutation only appears during a specific event, called the Moonlit Mirage. This event has a chance of occurring on any given night, and has been fairly common in our testing! When Moonlit Mirage is active, each fish you catch has a chance to appear as is Lunar version, which are white and glowing as opposed to their normal color. The fish model that flies out of the water on catch may also have a halo of light around it.
