Fisch Flying Fish Guide
The flying fish, based on its real-life counterpart has faux wings on its back which help it ‘glide’ out of the water. Now, Fisch, unfortunately, doesn’t have creatures you’re able to see unless hooked already or during the shark spawn events. That said, there are ways to farm Flying Fish despite its broad spawn conditions.
Flying Fish Preferences
First, you should try and tempt a Flying Fish to appear by complying with its habitable preferences. Given that the Legendary Fish only has two requirements, it makes it harder to refine the search.
- Bait: Minnow
- Time: Night
- Season: Any/No Preference
- Weather: Any/No Preference
The Flying Fish appears in the Ocean Bestiary under the Legendary section. The Ocean takes the throne as the most populated bestiary because of its vast reach making it daunting to hunt a singular species. However, if you head to Harvester Spike off the shore of Roslit (Coordinates: -1285, 140, 1430) you’ll have an easier time finding Flying Fish as they tend to lurk in the waters here.
Alternatively, fish on the wooden dock at Roslit facing towards the Harvester Spike where it still has a chance to spawn alongside Roslit residential species. When snagged on a line, the exclamation mark above the player’s head flashes yellow instead of the usual red. The next issue comes with its capture.
Recommended Rod
The Flying Fish, fortunately, isn’t a heavy-weight fish, so near enough any rod will suffice. That said, it moves around rapidly making it hard to defeat in the catch minigame. For this reason, I recommend fishing it using a rod with high resilience or control, or a preferred rod with an enchant to increase its control and resilience.
When I captured my own, I used the King’s Rod which already has a decently large control bar, so I didn’t need an additional enchant to secure the win.
