Fisch Firework Rod Guide
As mentioned in the intro, the Firework Rod is limited meaning it won’t be available forever. To obtain it, you’ll need to first visit Dr Glimmerfin on Moosewood and accept his quest to recover Algae from different islands.
The Algae spawns randomly and triggers similarly to a Shark Hunt event where it is a race to be the lucky captor. Fortunately, the Algae occasionally spawns more than one of itself, so your obtainment chance increases!
In total, there are four locations where Algae spawns and Dr Glimmerfin requests one from each island. This means you need to obtain one of each to get the Firework Rod. The rod is the prize for the third Algae handover, with a Title and Bobber coming before it.
Firework Rod Stats
The Firework Rod has a pretty neat passive that isn’t too dissimilar to other rods of similar calibre. When fishing using this rod, each catch has a 15% chance to have the Firework Mutation, increasing its value anywhere between 3.5x their base selling price.
Not only that, the rod reduces Whale progress speed by 20% whilst increasing the encounter rate by 0.2%.
Let’s get into its stats!
- Lure Speed: 35%
- Luck: 45%
- Control: 0.15
- Resilience: 15%
- Max KG: 25,000
From the stats, we see the Firework Rod is a boiled-down version of the mid to late-game Kings Rod, but with a positive Lure Speed in exchange for lower Resilience and Luck. For this reason, I recommend enchanting it with Resilience (+35% Resilience) to lower the risk of reel snaps when catching speedy fish.
