Fisch Blizzard Totem Guide
The Blizzard Totem added alongside the Northern Expedition is one of two on this massive tundra island. Exclusive to Northern Expedition, players sometimes experience a Blizzard event where the temperature drops significantly. During this, fish caught have a higher chance of adopting the Blighted mutation, which doesn’t surface naturally without a Blizzard.
Think of the Blizzard as a freezing edition of the Eclipse which applies Solarblaze on occasional fish encounters. The main difference between them is that the Blizzard isn’t necessary for any quests, yet…
Blighted fish become black and purple and sell for three times their usual value! This makes Blizzards quite valuable, especially if you fish in the Cryogenic Canal thanks to its small Bestiary.
Here, because the game doesn’t have many to choose from, encounters with Mythics happen more frequently. And, the Glacial Sturgeon mythic is valuable since it averages 5250C$ without mutations. This means during a Blizzard, you could farm for Blighted Glacial Sturgeons and earn 15,750C$ per fish!
Totem Location
To get your hands on the Blizzard Totem, head to the coordinates 20147, 743 and 5805. However, even with coordinates I struggled to locate it so I’ll also include some images to help navigate and waypoints to look out for.
First head to the camp that sells the Summit Rod, beside the Cryogenic Canal (Ironic!). When faced with the rod there should be ladders to the left, climb these and find Hiker #7.
Finally, off the side of the cliff to the left, the Blizzard Totem waits and glows faintly. I recommend using a Glider to reach it as it’s too big of a jump unless you backtrack and head further up the mountain and drop onto it. Here, the Totem sells for 275,000C$, if you don’t want to pay, you could always wait for a rare but naturally spawning Blizzard instead.
