Fisch Avalanche Totem Guide
Northern Expedition greatly expanded the Fisch Bestiary roster with 4 new areas and tons of frosty fish. Alongside this massive update came two new Totems with effects exclusive to this tundra-like area. The Avalanche Totem, as expected by its name triggers an Avalanche event. You may be wondering why you’d want to mess with this force of nature capable of killing players, but there are a few benefits.
Aside from pranking other players who get caught in the Avalanche as they traverse the slopes, this snowfall event allows players to encounter the Yellow Energy Crystal and Sleet mutated fish.
The Yellow Energy Crystal is one of four colours corresponding to the puzzle at the summit of the Northern Expedition. When each Crystal slots into place, the player unlocks the Heaven’s Rod, a late-game rod with overpowered stats and a hefty price tag of 1,750,000 C$.
Sleet mutated fish sell for 2.4 times more than their standard counterpart, and take on a gloomy blue-ish grey appearance. This is the only time to encounter Sleet fish as they do not mutate naturally without an Avalanche.
Avalanche Totem Location
From the camp where the Pickaxe is for sale, head Southwest following the ladders upwards. Around the corner will be the two-player puzzle where the Crystalized Rod is encased in ice. Keep following the natural path left until the snowy bridge. Before crossing the bridge, head to the right and behind the large rock formation near the cliff edge where the Totem sells for 150,000 C$. Alternatively, head to the coordinates 197112, 467 and 6056.
