What Is Appraisal?
Appraisal is a process where you pay an Appraiser to take a look at a fish you caught. They will reweigh the fish, and it may weigh more, or less after appraisal. The Appraiser may also discover that the fish is Shiny or has another extra traits, something that can drastically increase its values.
How Do You Appraise A Fish?
You can find the Appraiser on Moosewood. She is on the left side of the Merchant’s building, hidden behind the rods, so she’s easy to miss.
Approach and interact with the Appraiser to start talking, then request the ‘Can you appraise this fish?’ option. Appraising costs 450C$ per fish. You should then get your revalued fish back, with any changes the Appraiser as marked. Fish you’ve already had looked at should be marked with an icon in the hotbar.
Should You Appraise A Fish?
Appraising a fish is a bit of a gamble. You can get drastic increases in value, though you could spend money only for you to receive a less valuable fish in return, and be down 450C$ into the bargain. Our advice is to Appraise only with very valuable fish that would be worth over 500C$ to begin with. This should prevent getting a net loss, and make for a safer gamble overall.
