About The Ancient Depth Serpent
The Ancient Depth Serpent is an Exotic fish that appears in The Depths. It is currently one of the only things in the Exotic class that’s actually a sea creature. It can weigh upwards of 2000kg, and can sell for other 5000C$, with mutations worth even more.
How To Catch The Ancient Depth Serpent
The Ancient Depth Serpent is available only in The Depths, which is reached by using a Depths Key on the huge door in the Vertigo Pit. You can only catch one at only night.
The Ancient Depth Serpent will appear only in one small area in the main lake, which is visible on your Fish Radar. This area may change shape over the course of the night, and will always disappear before dawn.
If you want to maximize your chances, you can pick up some Sundial Totems before making your way to the depths. Use them every time the daytime period starts in order to bring nighttime again, thereby giving you another chance at getting Absolute Darkness. In our tests, Absolute Darkness was considerably less common than Moonlight Mirage.
You should bring a rod capable of handling large fish, many early game rods won’t be capable of reeling in a monster of the Serpent’s weight. The Steady Rod at least should do the trick, but if you can get something with better Luck and Lure Speed, all the better. Its favoured bait is Truffle Worms, so make use of those too, if you can.
