Fisch Algae Guide
First we’ll go over what Algae is for, then talk over how to get it.
About Algae
Algae is a limited catch, and more crucially they’re part of the Golden Tides quest, given by Dr Glimmerfin in Moosewood. Handing over more kinds of Algae will net you increasingly sought-after rewards.
- One Algae Type – Title, ‘Glimmerfin’s Pupil’.
- Two Algae Types – Glimmer Bobber
- Three Algae Types – Firework Rod
- Four Algae Types – Dr Glimmerfin’s Boat
How To Get Algae
There are four different kinds of Algae that you need for the quest. They each spawn in different locations on the map. When some spawns, an indicator should show up on your HUD with the location, and how much Algae is left.
If you want some, head over and fish the spot for a chance at the Algae. Keep in mind though, you’re competing with other players, a bit like Shark Hunts.
The four types, and their locations, are listed below.
- Ancient Algae – Spawns in the open Ocean, around Ancient Isle.
- Forsaken Algae – Spawns near Forsaken Shores.
- Mushgrove Algae – Spawn near, yeah you probably know already. Mushgrove Swamp.
- Snowcap Algae – Moosew- nah we’re only kidding. It’s near Snowcap Island.
The Algae have no preferred conditions or baits. You just need to keep fishing.
