Finally, the Final Fantasy XIV x Final Fantasy XVI Collaboration Event is upon us. After being teased and teased by both Naoki Yoshida, producer of Final Fantasy XVI, and YoshiP director and producer of Final Fantasy XIV we finally have a launch date for the event.
Here players of the critically acclaimed MMORPG have the chance to team up with FFXVI protagonist Clive on a new questline and earn some swag from the recently released Final Fantasy XVI. Since the event is right around the corner, here are a few things you’d want to know.
FFXIV The Path Infernal Collaboration Event
The Infernal Path is a limited-time collaboration event for Final Fantasy XIV. Here players get to live through a short questline featuring some of the stories and themes of Final Fantasy XVI, the game made by the people that brought you A Realm Reborn and Heavensward.
If you haven’t played the title yet, because the PC version isn’t out yet or you simply haven’t had the time, don’t worry. Naoki Yoshida promises that the team took extra care that there would be no spoilers whatsoever featured. But you will have a chance to get a feel of the world and themes of FFXVI and hang out with its main character, Clive Rosfield in a similar manner as the FFXV and FFXI collaboration events.
Final Fantasy XVI Collaboration Event Release Date
The Collaboration Event will go from Tuesday, April 2, 2024, 1:00 AM PDT to Wednesday, May 8, 2024, 7:59 AM PDT. At the time of writing, we don’t know if and when the event will make a return.
But as the FFXV and FFXI Events both make their return at least once per expansion patch cycle, we expect this one to make a return as well. Still, if you want these timed exclusive items, make sure to get them in the month the event is live.
The Path Infernal Quest Location and Requirements
If you’re looking forward to getting the exclusive items, make sure you’re at least level 50 on one of your combat jobs and completed the final quest of A Realm Reborn “The Ultimate Weapon”. If you meet the requirements, you can pick up the first quest of the event “A Land of Fire” from the Neophyte Adventurer in the Steps of Nald in Ul’dah.
The quest will be an entire chain, featuring a bunch of objectives, cutscenes, and most likely a single-player trial. Completing it will net the players a bunch of FFXVI-themed rewards and unlock even more at the Gold Saucer.
FFXIV The Path Infernal Rewards
As part of the quest, players will be able to earn the dyable Metian Attire set, which is a cosmetic set of armor based on Final Fantasy XVI’s protagonist Clive Rosfield. Players will also be able to earn a new mount, Torgal who is Clive’s four-legged companion as well as a minion version of him.
In addition to that, there is also a Triple Triad Card, only available during the time of the event at the Gold Saucer for a stunning 200.000 MGP. There is also a staggering number of Orchestrion Scrolls, based on FFXVI tracks, composed by FFXIV’s very own composer Masayoshi Soken. Each of the tracks will set you back 20.000 MGP.
