Eorzea’s getting a whole lot bigger with the FFXIV Preliminary Patch Notes 7.1 teasing huge updates in the future.
The new FFXIV Preliminary Patch Notes for 7.1 — nicknamed “Crossroads” — lists a plethora of exciting changes coming to live servers.
Apart from its first crossover Alliance Raid, the critically-acclaimed MMO is also getting a new coat of paint, updates to its battle systems and many more! So we listed down the biggest updates coming to 7.1 below!
FFXIV Preliminary Patch Notes: Biggest Updates
New Main Scenario Quests
The Dawntrail experience continues with seven new story quests.
These level 100 quests will be playable in the lategame. And while we don’t know the final number yet, the first two missions have the “Dawntrail” and “A Royal Invitation” Main Scenario Quests listed as prerequisites.
In addition, added MSQs will now be indicated on the minimap whenever the player is nearby — a welcome quality-of-life change, especially for new players.
New 7.1 Alliance Raid
The FFXIV Preliminary Patch Notes showed off a new raid coming to 7.1.
‘Jeuno: The First Walk’ is a new Dawntrail alliance raid dungeon introduced in FFXIV patch 7.1. This level 100 weekly dungeon becomes accessible after completing “An Otherworldly Encounter” quest at Tuliyollal.
Jeuno: The First Walk Rewards:
- 2x Cracked Novacluster
- x1 Ordelle Coin
- Orchestrion Rolls
- & more!
New Housing Options
A variety of interior designs are being added to FFXIV’s real estate sim!
The popular JMMORPG offers a lot in the lategame, but none are quite as immersive as the Player Housing aspect. And now, players can take their pick from several ostentatious interiors to level up their Feng Shui!
Craft, remodel, scale, and invent new room layouts for your estate with the new 7,1 changes! New interior options include:
- Riviera Style
- Glade Style
- Oasis Style
- Far Eastern Style
- Highland Style
- Minimalist Style
PvP Updates
Crystalline Conflict receives a bunch of new changes that aim to create smaller matches overall.
In the FFXIV Preliminary Patch Notes, Square announced that the time limit for the game mode’s overtime will be shortened to 10 minutes (previously 25).
The win condition for Crystalline’s overtime is also changing. Now, the team with the greater progress score will win the game after overtime. Moreover, Overtime ends in a draw when both teams’ points are even and the crystal stays in the center of the battlefield.
Graphics Update
Last but not least, FFXIV is getting a major facelift across the game’s expansions. Expect more polygons, enhanced textures and better models once patch 7.1 rolls around!
Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail introduces a new storyline spanning two parts, and a massive continent to explore. New and familiar characters come together to lay the foundations of a new arc in the MMO, and it’s only getting better after every major update!
