Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth has expanded its Mako-infused world and broadened the game’s color palette by adding several new areas as our heroes leave Midgar and traverse the other lands of FF7’s world. As such, you’ll get to explore the various vicinities in areas like the Forgotten Capital and see different types of landscapes in every turn of your camera.
One of the first of these areas you’ll be exploring is called the Grasslands, and just like every other game like Final Fantasy 7, you’ll have plenty of things to do in the area to keep yourself busy for a good portion of the game. In this article, we’ll be talking about the caches you can find in Grasslands, which are points of interest on the map with several treasures that you can find in them.
Do note that there are spoilers in this article, so tread carefully!
FF7 Rebirth Grasslands Map Caches
Now let’s go ahead and look at all the different locations starting from the first one you’re most likely to come across: Thresher Waterwheel Cache.
Thresher Waterwheel Cache
You’ll be able to find two treasure chests in this particular area, with the first one being to the right of the waterwheel and wooden structure, lying on the ground.
The second one is located under the stone archway. Simply go underneath it and you’ll find it around a bunch of bricks lying on the ground.
The rewards you’ll get for these chests are: Mist Potion and a Hi-Potion.
Grassy Viaduct Cache
The next ones will be located in the Grassy Viaduct. Look for a brick structure in the vicinity and you’ll see yellow markings indicating that you can climb up. Get your grippies out and start climbing and you’ll find the treasure chests on the top waiting for you, two on the left and one on the right.
Your rewards for finding them are: Potion, Emerald and Phoenix Down.
Jadewind Hill Caches
There’s three treasure chests in this area, one underneath each of the windmills located. Easy!
Your rewards: Potion, Mixed Potion and Ether.
Mako Pipe Junction Caches
The two chests in the area can be found in the following areas:
One in the western side of the area, where the pipe starts dipping into the ground, and the other one in the eastern side, near the big pipe as well. Look for the part where the pipe starts coming out of the ground.
Your rewards: Lea Titanium, Grenade.
Mistveil Reservoir
There’s three chests in the area, with the first one found near the top of the stairs shown on the map. From the stairs, head right and drop into the lower reservoir. The chest will be waiting for you behind the metal structure.
You’ll find the second chest near a small hut on the end of a metal walkway. To find the hut, go back a little bit from the first chest and you’ll see another set of steps to your left.
For the last chest, head up the stairs to get to the next level of the reservoir. Once you get to the end, look to your left and the final chest will be waiting for you.
Your rewards: Hi-Potion, Beastman Armband, Ether.
Marshy Mire Caches
SPOILER: You’ll need to defeat Midgardsormr to access this location.
There’s only two chests for you here and they’re located near a broken brick structure. Look for a dead tree in the middle of the shore and you’ll find the two chests in the left and right sides of the tree.
Your rewards: Hi-Ether, Ruby.
Forgotten Treads Cache
You’ll find your first chest near the front-facing side of the tank, and the next one is located on the southern side of the vehicle, surrounded by some wooden boxes.
Your rewards: Hi-Potion, 1,000 Gil.
