In Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, you have the opportunity to control different characters during your adventure beyond Cloud. However, it will not be possible to control everyone in the game and some of those who were controllable in the original game are not controllable now. For this reason, in this article, we will tell you what the FF7 Rebirth all playable characters are.
FF7 Rebirth All Playable Characters
The list of party members in FF7 Rebirth is quite long, as the game gives you the possibility of being able to impersonate different characters in addition to the protagonist, Cloud. Let’s see together what these are precisely. Obviously, there will be spoilers, so if you don’t want to deal with any kind of spoiler, then it is not recommended to continue reading this article.
Cloud Strife
- Main character
- Specialist damage dealer
The main character of the game is Cloud Strife, who used to be a soldier. He leads the team. In fights, he changes how he fights. One way lets him attack quickly and from far away. The other way lets him hit hard without stopping.
Barret Wallace
- Party member
- Ranged combat
The boss of Avalanche, Barret, is still tough, but he’s starting to show a kinder side because of what happened in Midgar. Barret’s regular attacks let him shoot enemies from a distance with his gun-arm, hurting them. He can also do a big blast called Overcharge.
Tifa Lockhart
- Party member
- Melee combat
Tifa and Cloud used to be friends when they were kids in Nibelheim, but they haven’t been as close lately. Tifa is really good at fast fighting moves like punches, kicks, and uppercuts. Sometimes she does a special move called Whirling Uppercut, and she has other skills that help her fight better, like making it easier to hit enemies while they’re in the air.
Aerith Gainsborough
- Party member
- Support/healer
Aerith is an Ancient, and she wishes for a peaceful life with her friends. She stays calm during fights and uses her staff to shoot magic at enemies. She also helps her friends by making them stronger or keeping them safe. Sometimes, she can move around during battle and avoid getting hurt.
Red XIII
- Party member
- Melee combat
Shinra’s wicked scientists experimented on the smart feline Red XIII, but he escaped with Cloud and the others. In fights, Red XIII can tear into enemies with his claws, and he can also use special attacks that steal their health called Vengeance.
Yuffie Kisaragi
- Available at the end of chapter 6
- Hybrid dealer
Yuffie is a young ninja from Wutai, a place that does not get along with Shinra. She followed Cloud’s group, as shown in the Final Fantasy Remake: Episode INTERmission DLC. In Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, she joins the group at the end of Chapter 6, just before they’re leaving Costa del Sol.
Cait Sith
- Available at the start of chapter 9
- RNG tanky fighter
Cait Sith is a toy cat riding on a big Moogle robot, and we won’t spoil who’s controlling him. Anyway, his fighting style is mostly based on luck. He can use his claws up close or shoot magic notes with his megaphone weapons. He can also ride his Moogle in battle and use abilities that change depending on dice rolls or slot machine spins.
Sephiroth
- Playable during the Nibelheim flashback in chapter 1
Sephiroth is the main bad guy in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, so it’s unexpected to play as him. Even though it’s a short part of the game, it’s a neat reference to a specific moment in the original game.
Zack Fair
- Playable during some segments
Zack used to be a soldier, and he’s the main character in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7. You get to play as him in some parts of the game.
