Far Cry 6 is officially done as devs confirm no more updates

Far Cry 6 launched back in 2021, and, while thanking players for enjoying the game, Ubisoft confirmed that the dev team won’t be working on new updates for the game.To be fair, we weren’t expecting much in the way of updates for Far Cry 6, which is several years old now. Thankfully, Ubisoft also confirmed that there won’t be any “interruption” of the game’s online services, which hopefully means we won’t need to worry about the Far Cry 6 achievements.”Thanks to the millions of players who joined the fight! Your adventures can continue in Yara w/o interruption of online services however, the dev team will no longer be making updates to Far Cry 6,” Ubisoft says. “We appreciate your passion, creativity, & love of Chorizo, even Anton is proud!”Tom loved the game in his Far Cry 6 review, and it was even his AAA choice for Game of the Year for 2021. It had a wave of post-launch DLC, covering everything from Vaas: Insanity, to the Pagan: Control DLC featuring Far Cry 4’s Pagan Min.Ubisoft has been pretty quiet about the future of the Far Cry series — reports suggest Far Cry 7 is in the works, as well as an an extraction-based multiplayer-only Far Cry game, but there’s been no official word yet.
