F1 Manager 24 Tips and Tricks are here to help you get the best out of your time on the track(s).


When it comes to management sims, there’s a fine balance between making a spreadsheet game (we love you Football Manager) and just making a racing simulator. F1 Manager has always done a good job of this, but it can still be a little overwhelming.

In this article, we’ll give you some of our F1 Manager 24 Tips after we’ve spent some significant time playing the game. You’ll also find our review here (once it’s live).

F1 Manager 24 Tips – Running the Team

Before we head to the track, it’s important that we prepare our car, and our team for the season. Regardless of if you pick a new team, or take on one of the current F1 teams, you need to develop the backend if you want to perform on the track. If you decide to use the Create a Team feature, and start as a brand new team then developing your team slowly is crucial here.

Develop Your car

Right out the block, get your car development going. For us, if you’re a new team we would recommend any upgrades that improve durability, as winning races isn’t going to happen very soon. As far as what resources are needed for each design,

What we tend to do is split our development resources into two projects and go all in. You will get enough time during the season to do each car part once going all in. Obviously you’ll lose some of this effort the following season if several rule changes come in to affect the parts you’ve developed.

When it comes to research, if you’re a new team or if next season is going to have big changes, we recommend going all in on research. If a car part is getting major changes, we would suggest doing at least two rounds of research on it.

Upgrade Your Facilities

The next major thing to do is start to improve your behind-the-scenes. If you are looking to develop drivers, start by improving your simulator setup, then move to improve your car production facilities. These are expensive, however, so maybe look to develop one of these per season.

As you grow, start to invest in your team buildings such as Helipads and Tour Centre as these will both directly and indirectly earn you money.

Lock Down Key Staff

Depending on what team you sign for, or if you create your team locking down your best staff and drivers early can be key. This is especially true if you have a good long-term driver and you want to combine them with a good race engineer. Keeping these two members of staff happy, and together, can be a massive boost to your team.

Hire Young Affiliate Drivers

Regardless of what team you manage, it’s important to hire or look after your affiliate drivers. In F1 Manager 24 drivers do actually move away, and retire, so it’s important to always be prepared for a larger team coming along and poaching your best driver. All teams will come with an Affiliate driver, some have a few, but getting two or three on the books is really useful.

Nail the Setup

This is a bit of self-promotion, but getting your race setup correct is always nice. If you’re playing on the Easy race setting, you might be fine with just skipping this step anyway. The same goes for people who are simulating the race weekends and role-playing as more of a Team Principle.

But, if we are being super realistic, if your team or driver are good enough you can get away with anything 50% or above anyway.

Something you might find when you race against the AI is that they are really aggressive at the start. Even starting the race in first you’ll likely lose the first few places, so we have a really simple tip for you that will change your life.

If you take a look at the screenshot above, you’ll see the Driver Option section highlighted. Here, you can adjust the start of race options to push your car. While you can also just do this the second you start the race, you’ll probably not see any impact by turn 1, which is the most important part. It’s not the end of the world if you forget to do this, but it’s worth doing on the opening 5 laps. Just monitor the car, especially the ERS as you don’t want that to drain.
