Former Blizzard veteran and accomplished artist Wei Wang’s new game Astropulse: Reincarnation has reportedly been canceled already. The game was in development at Imagendary Studios, which Wang founded, and was announced just this past April. According to a new report, the studio has also been shut down.

News of Astropulse: Reincarnation’s cancellation and Imagendary’s closing was shared by artist Julian Calle (via X user Kurakasis). We’re marking this as a report because an official announcement has not been made. It’s also unclear when the game was canceled and the when the studio was shut down.

Imagendary’s website is still up at the time of this writing.

It seems like nobody has mentioned this, so I’m sharing in case anyone’s interested:Astropulse: Reincarnation has been canceled, and its developer, Imagendary Studios, has shut down. Astropulse: Reincarnation was billed as a single-player sci-fi game that was supposed to be part of a transmedia universe, much like the doomed Unknown 9: Awakening published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The shooter/RPG was revealed with a five-minute CGI trailer.

“Astropulse is a sweeping sci-fi saga that spans multiple media platforms, including games, film, novels, and more,” reads an official description on Imagendary’s website. “This transmedia odyssey covers billions of years of history, beginning 250 million years ago when Astropulse — a mysterious force — arrives on Earth.”

Platforms for Astropulse were never announced.
