ESL Gaming has announced the appointment of Roberta Hernandez as the new Senior Vice President of People and Culture.
In her new role, Hernandez will align talent strategies and programs that attract and retain the best talent for the esports brand.

Hernandez is an experienced HR specialist with over 20 years of experience in the entertainment, gaming, and beverage sectors. She held positions in Zynga, Red Bull, Universal Music Group, and FilmTrack. Her last position prior to joining ESL was Vice President of Human Resources for music venue brand House of Blues.
In a statement to Esports Insider, Roberta said that people are ESL’s greatest asset and that the responsibility of the People & Culture team is to ‘develop sustainable programs that will engage and enhance the employee experience at ESL.’
Hernandez added: “One of the key areas [of my position] include diversity & inclusion, meaning that ESL, as a leader in esports, will tie into previous projects such as women in gaming and beyond to further increase diversity in esports. Another key area that now lies within my responsibility is the training and personal development of ESL employees and therefore foster their individual development and talents.”

Her ambition is to have programs that impact the employees and culture of ESL to the level the company has impacted esports, she told ESI. Her aim is to shape the company’s culture and create a space in a way that all employees feel proud to work in.
