Escape from Tarkov Wipes! We have all the details right here.
Not quite Thursday but Tarkov is about to wipe with the new 0.14 patch. That means all player progress will be reset and we have a fresh start into a new season of EFT.
At DreamHack we learned quite a bit about what the future of Escape from Tarkov has in store for us but here is a quick rundown of everything you can expect in this new, upcoming patch.
Escape from Tarkov Wipes
The game will wipe on December 27, 2023, with maintenance starting at around 7:00 AM GMT / 2:00 AM EST. This maintenance is supposed to last for at least 6 hours before the new 0.14 patch goes live which might be the last big content update before an eventual 1.0 release.
Please note that Tarkov Arena will not be affected by the update whatsoever.
EFT Patch 0.14
The new patch promises to bring a slew of new content and improvements to the game. One of the bigger updates is improved movement, animations, and stances.
For the first time ever players will be able to vault over objects, making movement much more fluid and more dynamic. You’ll also be able to change which hand you’re holding your guns with so you’re no longer at and disadvantage when fighting around corners. Blindfireing will also be improved.
There have been several adjustments to existing quests and a couple of new ones, we’ll learn the full extent of those changes once the patch notes become available.
A huge update is the new armor system which will now feature actual plates within each set or armor. Plates you’ll have to repair, maintain, and equip. This will also include new hitboxes, meaning you’ll have to learn the weaknesses of each type of armor or use and exploit the leg meta.
There’ll also be some performance improvements across the board, especially on the Streets of Tarkov map as well as the inclusion of the new Suburbs map which is more suited for beginners. Aside from that you can expect the usual new items, weapons, and hideout upgrades which we’ll get into tomorrow.
As mentioned before, this might be the last big content update Escape from Tarkov will receive before Battlestate Games starts to focus on the big 1.0 release which they expect to release sometime next year. There is also Tarkov Arena which will receive some of these updates such as the new movement and damage systems at a later date.
