We got a quick rundown of the Escape from Tarkov Patch 0.14 Patchnotes. Here is everything you need to know as you prep your next visit to Tarkov.

Wake up PMC, it’s wipe day and an era is about to dawn on Escape from Tarkov an era of more fluid movement, hopefully less audio confusion, and a new map to explore. With the new update, we also see a new wipe which means all player progress has been reset and we’re back to square one.

So while we’re waiting for the servers to go live or stuck in the loading screen, check out our summary of the patch notes so you don’t miss anything.

Escape from Tarkov Patch 0.14 Notes

New Boss – Kollontay

A new boss is entering the Streets of Tarkov who goes by the name of Kollontay. A certified piece of shit who formed a band of fellow misfits that now terrorize the few people remaining in the city. He can be found near the Kilov Shopping Mall and the Tarkov Academy of Ministry of Internal Affairs.

New Map – Ground Zero

Ground Zero is a new map that aims to cater to new players specifically. It is essentially a small version of the Streets of Tarkov map which also features the new line of inductionary quests. So you don’t have to get shot in Customs anymore while trying to find that watch.

Interesting to note that players won’t be able to enter the map once they reach level 20 or higher, so it’s ideal for new players and the early hours of the wipe.

Overarching Player Progression

Players can now earn achievements for completing various challenges and accolades in the game. These achievements will be displayed on the player’s profile and won’t be wiped.

There is also the Hall of Fame where players can display mementos in their hideouts. Here you can display the dog tags of PMCs you have killed, killing PMCs from the opposite factions will also increase your combat skills when displayed.

New Armor System

One of the bigger changes of the EFT 0.14 Patch is the introduction of the new armor system which comes with a slew of changes coming to the way hitboxes work. Not only have those been completely reworked, but there was also a massive update to the Armor system.

The armor players wear in raids now functions as actual armor. This means you now have to insert and replace ballistic plates in various parts of your armor which will protect those areas from gunshots. Different types of armor will now also feature different weak and strong points you’ll have to learn and master going forward.

Vaulting

After years Escape from Tarkov finally features the long-promised vaulting system. Now you can vault over smaller obstacles such as crates and fences without interrupting your momentum, you can also climb up those obstacles for a better point of view.

Shoulder Transitions

Players will now also be able to change the shoulder from which they aim from. This is especially useful when trying to fight around corners. Please note you won’t be able to use shoulder transition while being prone, firing overhead, or while firing blind.

Miscellaneous

Aside from these bigger updates, there is also the usual array of new weapons, ammo types, AI updates, and then some. Highlights include changes to the Lightkeeper that’ll allow players to buy safe passage from the Rogues and fire support by Zryachiy.

Other changes change the order of some Quests as well as some of the requirements of “The Punisher” and “The Tarkov Shooter Part 4”.  You can find the full list of all changes on the EFT forums.
