Epic Games will donate all Fortnite proceeds for the next two weeks to “humanitarian relief for people affected by the war in Ukraine.”From March 20th through to April 3rd, Epic will donate all its Fortnite proceeds to four humanitarian relief organizations, which are “on the ground providing emergency aid, including health support, food and clean water, essential supplies, legal aid, and shelter.” All monies raised from the sales of “V-Buck packs, Fortnite Crew, gifted Battle Passes, and cosmetic packs,” along with retail store purchase of in-game cosmetics and V-Bucks cards that are redeemed in-game during the two-week window, will be donated to Direct Relief, United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), United Nations World Food Programme, (UNWFP), and UNHCR – The UN Refugee Agency. Chapter 3, Season 2 has just gone live in Fortnite with a new battle pass, so we imagine a fair wodge of cash will be going to the charities.Microsoft also announced it too would donate net Fortnite proceeds from sales on the Microsoft Store during the two weeks. “Xbox is joining Epic in support of the people of Ukraine by contributing net proceeds for Fortnite during this time.” You can also donate your Microsoft Rewards points through April 30th and Microsoft will match your contribution: https://t.co/DDqe8KIgui— Xbox (@Xbox) March 20, 2022 If you haven’t seen it already, Microsoft has a special Microsoft Rewards Points Punchcard where you can claim 500 points and donate them to UNICEF. Microsoft will also match this donation. Epic Games, and many other big games companies, including Microsoft, have recently suspended sales in Russia and Belarus in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
