Esports career platform Enlight has announced the launch of a series of programmes designed for individuals looking to get into specific sectors of the esports industry.

In total there will be four programmes covering different disciplines, with each running six-weeks with two live sessions per week. The programme is priced at $500 (~£358) and will run from July 19th.

The disciplines for the programmes are: competition and event operations, broadcast and live content production, social media and community management, as well as talent and player management. Within each discipline the programme will also consist of two sections — Technical and Career.

Technical sessions will see students learn about relevant skills within their chosen discipline. Each technical session is expected to consist of a lecture that leads into relevant hands-on training.

Moreover, career sessions will teach students about job-related content. This includes resume reviews, interview workshops and career advice.

Some of Enlight’s curriculum advisors include the likes of Cristina Amaya, Team Liquid’s Head of Events, Gene Chorba, Riot Games’s Senior Developer Relations, Soren Vendsahm, Complexity Gaming’s General Manager, and Garret Spenst, Elgato’s Trade Marketing Content Specialist, among others.

Eunice Chen, Founder of Enlight, commented: “The industry talent pipeline before Enlight was largely non-existent and fragmented.

“These career programmes standardise and prepare career-ready candidates from around the world straight to the best esports companies.”

According to the release, Enlight has dedicated over $5,000 (~£3,581) in scholarships which will be reserved for women and underrepresented groups who may need financial assistance.

Signups for the programmes are open until July 5th.

Esports Insider says: Career initiatives within competitive gaming have suffered a knock in reputation following the Esports Certification Institute. However, Enlight’s programme does look beneficial to those wanting to learn about specific esports discipline. The curriculum’s advisor group also includes some huge names related to the programmes offered.

It’s also good to see the platform introduce scholarships for women and underrepresented groups who are wanting to develop their esports skill set.
