Dustbunny: Emotion to Plants is a new game on Android that’s cute but deals with a serious issue that we tend to keep to ourselves. The game opens with you meeting your guide, Empathy. It’s a little rabbit with a gentle way of leading you through your own mental space.

Dustbunny: Emotion to Plants is a therapeutic sim from Antientropic where you design your own sanctuary. It takes cosy room decorating and fuses it with a truly unique emotional journey. A big part of the game’s design comes from the creative director’s own experiences during the Covid lockdown.

What Are the Features of Dustbunny: Emotion to Plants?

You begin your journey in a calm, abandoned room. Empathy helps you unlock parts of yourself as you catch the strange little creatures called ‘emotibuns.’ These tiny, skittish characters represent your hidden emotions.

The magic really happens when you catch them. Each emotibun you nurture transforms into a beautiful plant, brightening up your room. Symbolically, it lights up your inner world. Over time, your room fills up with unique plants like monsteras, philodendrons, alocasia and rare unicorn hybrids. It reflects your journey and growth.

Dustbunny: Emotion to Plants has lots of minigames and activities which can deepen your connection to your little room and all its plants. You’ll be flying Paper Planes, making flavours of Cup Ramyun and playing a retro Gameboi.

These activities give you energy and collectables to keep growing and caring for your plants. With over 20 different Care Cards, you get to do actions like watering, misting, and observing. You’ll have a range of tools at your disposal as well.

It’s a Personal Adventure but with a Social Twist

Dustbunny: Emotion to Plants has a ‘Doors’ feature. Your door can be decorated with symbols and stickers that reflect your unique story. You can visit other players’ doors, leave little messages and share in each other’s growth.

Empathy’s conversations and activities are inspired by compassion-focused therapy and cognitive behavioural techniques. You’ll be encouraged to take time for yourself, explore self-acceptance and nurture self-love.

You’ll find stickers and designs that help you get your thoughts out in a fun and soothing way. Check out Dustbunny: Emotion to Plants from the Google Play Store.
