The Pokémon Company has unveiled eight organisations invited to partake in the newly launched Pokémon India League, set to be a part of the Pokémon UNITE Asia Champions League (PUACL) 2025.

Alongside announcing the participants, The Pokémon Company has detailed an esports roadmap and incentives to attract India’s top esports organisations to sign rosters from the country.

The eight partnered teams for the first season of PUACL 2025 India League are GodLike Esports, Gods Reign, Global Esports, Marcos Gaming, Reckoning Esports, Revenant Esports, S8UL Esports and True Rippers.

Each partnered team will compete in a regular season of the PUACL 2025 India League from November 16th 2024 to January 26th 2025. The group stage will decide the seeding for the playoffs where one team will be crowned champions and go on to represent the country at the Pokémon UNITE ACL 2025 Offline Final in Japan.

The winner of the event will also receive $16,000 (~£12,000) from its $40,000 (~£30,000) prize pool.

The Pokémon UNITE team at The Pokémon Company commented on the announcement: “We are thrilled to bring the first-ever partnered PUACL League to India, marking a historic step in the evolution of the Indian Pokémon UNITE community.

“With this tournament and our dedicated roadmap, we’re spotlighting the incredible talent within the country. This format provides a pathway for Indian teams to showcase their skills on a global stage in Japan, underscoring our commitment to building a vibrant, competitive future for Pokémon UNITE in India.”

Alongside the team announcements, the Pokémon Company also announced that Skyesports will be the event’s esports partner. Skyesports has worked with Pokémon since 2022 to develop Pokémon UNITE esports in India. As such, the company runs a myriad of tournaments across a variety of esports titles, including the Skyesports Championship and the Skyesports Masters.
