Easy Gamerscore Xbox games about hidden cats have become my guilty pleasure

I love an easy Gamerscore binge. Whether that’s playing through some of the games in our Game Pass easy achievements article or picking up something cheap from our list of weekly quick completions, it’s nice to have that gaming palate cleanser between big titles. On the hunt for a quick achievement-filled endorphin rush, I recently picked up Silesia Games’ Hidden Cats in Paris, thinking it would be one of those awful ‘easy’ titles designed to sell you Gamerscore. However, I was wrong, and playing through the Hidden Cats series has been one of the most enjoyable gaming experiences I’ve had this year. Don’t Sleep on the Hidden Cats seriesOver the past year or so, the Xbox store has been flooded with games of varying quality about cats. I’m not sure why cat games are suddenly all the rage, but it’s certainly an odd trend to witness. Hidden among all of these furry feline frolics are the Hidden Cats games, which I believe are truly excellent easy Gamerscore titles that shouldn’t be missed. If you’re unaware of the Hidden Cats titles, they are hidden object puzzle games where you’re presented with a large, colorless illustration of a cityscape that’s filled with over 100 cats to find — think ‘Where’s Waldo?’ but with hundreds of cute kittens instead. Once you start finding and highlighting these cheeky cats, the image starts to fill with color until you’ve found every kitty. When you’ve uncovered all the cats, you get access to a more challenging level with humans and rare cats to find, as well as several bonus levels to complete. These games (and their achievement lists) are extraordinarily simple, and on paper, they probably don’t sound that much fun, but I honestly can’t get enough of them. They weirdly remind me of PowerWash Simulator in the sense that they’ve provided me with an almost meditative experience where your brain shuts off, and you run on autopilot for an hour or two. After muting the in-game music and slapping on a podcast, I’ve found myself completely zoned out, lost in a world of purrs and meows. Sometimes, you need that. When you’ve had a long day and don’t want to think about anything, being able to clear your mind and focus it on some inane task that doesn’t require much brainpower is just what the doctor ordered. If you’re like me and often sit looking at the hundreds of games in your backlog, the live-service titles screaming for every second of your attention, and that ever-expanding Game Pass library, and simply want a zen-like experience with some easy Gamerscore to just forget about the world and the games you should be playing, I can’t recommend enough the six games in the Hidden Cats series: Hidden Cats in London, Hidden Cats in New York, Hidden Cats in Paris, Hidden Cats in Rome, Hidden Cats in Berlin, and Hidden Cats in Spooky Town. All of them are really cheap and are excellent at what they do — you can absolutely pick up worse quick completions for much more money. If you’re after some more easy Gamerscore, be sure to check out our weekly list of quick completions discounted in the latest Xbox sales.
