BioWare has confirmed that its next massive RPG in the Dragon Age series, which has previously been going by working titles, now has an official name and a sparkly logo — introducing Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. It’s been almost two years since the next Dragon Age game was announced, in which time we’ve seen little more than a few bits of concept art and a cinematic teaser trailer. The fact we’re only just getting a name for the next game would seem to tally up with reports that it will be releasing late 2023 at the earliest, but hey, it’s something. Enchantment!New Dragon Age gets official subtitle: DreadwolfA fresh update on the BioWare site gives us a little background on the meaning of this new title, with an introduction to the titular character. “Solas, the Dread Wolf. Some say he might be an ancient elven god, but some say not. Others say a betrayer of his people…or a savior who now seeks to rescue them at the cost of your world. His motives are inscrutable and his methods sometimes questionable, earning him a reputation as something of a trickster deity — a player of dark and dangerous games.”The post also promises more news on the game will follow later this year, and also seems to confirm that it’s still a way out. “We suspect you have questions and they’ll be answered in time. While the game won’t be releasing this year, we’re growing closer to that next adventure.” With Gamescom in August (where the game was first announced) and The Game Awards at the end of the year, there are a few prime places we might see Dreadwolf pop up, and we’ll keep you posted as to where and when our first proper look at the game might be.Like the title?
