How to Play Sorcerer in Dragon’s Dogma 2
The first thing to understand and take into consideration, as we have already mentioned previously, are the times that the Sorcerer needs to use his spells. The stronger the spells, the longer it will take to use them. As a result, during this time, you will be vulnerable to enemy attacks, so it is very important to have excellent timing.
To overcome this problem, our advice is to have companions with you who are part of Dragon’s Dogma 2 vocations based on melee, so as to have someone who can distract the enemies while you are busy launching your spells. Don’t underestimate this aspect; otherwise, it will be really difficult to get the upper hand in certain battles in the game.
Another thing you should take into consideration is your position on the battlefield. Like the Mage, the Sorcerer is also able to levitate and move around the battlefield. Specifically, in Dragon’s Dogma 2, there are three different categories of skills: Weapon Skills, Core Skills, and Augments. Let’s see together in detail what they are about.
Weapon Skills
They are basically the skills related to your class. This means that, whatever your class is, there will be different abilities for that specific weapon. So, even if you use the same weapon, you will not have access to the skills that are available for the other Dragon’s Dogma 2 vocations.
- Flagration: Unleashes a swirling jet of flame straight ahead for a period of time. The flame ignores Magick Defense and can pass through multiple targets. While active, the caster can still move.
- Thundermine: Conjures a ball of lightning that automatically unleashes crackling bolts at foes who draw near. The bolts also knock down smaller targets. Dissipates after a set number of attacks.
- Frigor: Conjures a giant pillar of ice that lingers for a period of time and can serve as a stepping stone. After the pillar is destroyed, grabbable blocks of ice will remain.

- Decanter: Saps the target’s health and grants it to the caster. The effect continues for as long as the spell is maintained, but the caster must remain stationary.

Core Skills
Core skills are skills that are tied to a weapon, so they can be used whatever your Dragon’s Dogma 2 vocation is.
- Magick Bolt: Fires a magickal burst that differs based on active enchantment. Can be cast while moving.
- Galvanize: Rapidly recovers Stamina through single-minded focus. Can be employed while moving, but with reduced efficacy.
- Quickspell: Greatly hastens incantation speed. Consumes Stamina while active.
- Levitate: Manipulates the caster’s weight through magickal means, allowing them to float temporarily.

- Catalysis: Increases damage dealt when exploiting a hostile target’s elemental weakness.
