Dragons Dogma 2, the much-awaited RPG sequel from capcom has sold 2.5 million units worldwide, hitting a major sales milestone in less than a week.
The sequel to the 2015RPG hit, Dragons Dogma, has surpassed expectations by selling 2.5 million units worldwide in just 7 days after release. This major sales milestone was revealed by Capcom through a press release on the Japanese Investor Relations’ page.
Cumulative Lifetime Franchise Sales Exceed 10+ Million Copies
The Capcom entertainment title has now hit a cumulative sales milestone of 10 million+ copies, making the Dragons Dogma 2 franchise a massive hit across all available platforms. Capcom announced the sales milestone through a press release on the developer’s investor relations page.
The second installment in the Dragons’s Dogma 2 franchise opened up to mostly positive reviews, with praise for its story, narration and gameplay mechanics however there is still a long way to go as the game is successful but not perfect, as it launched with several issues in-game that capcom looks to fix with future updates.
“Capcom carried out various global-facing promotional activities with the aim of attracting not only long-time fans of the series but newcomers as well, including the launch of a free application that let users create their player avatars prior to the game’s release, as well as in-game pawns made in collaboration with celebrities in various countries and Japanese national athletes,” detailed the press release.
“Capcom remains firmly committed to satisfying the expectations of all stakeholders by leveraging its industry-leading game development capabilities in order to create highly entertaining gameplay experiences,” concluded the press release.
Dragons Dogma 2 is available to play on PC, PlayStation 5, and the Xbox One X/S. The game was released on March 22 across all platforms.
