After the ten-year reign of Inquisition, it was clear that Dragon Age: The Veilguard had some pretty big boots to fill, and while it didn’t perform as well as EA had hoped, it still accumulated a sizable fan base. For those who are yet to dip their toes into the latest chapter of Thedas’ ongoing saga, you can now grab the game at a 50% price cut, bringing it down to its lowest-ever price. This comes less than six months since its initial release, likely due to the game not hitting EA’s expectations.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard has had a tough time finding its feet. Picking up a solid but not perfect 6/10 score in our Dragon Age: The Veilguard review, Reid refers to it as a “a gorgeous, but monotonous RPG.” However, after a range of split opinions, with other review scores ranging from perfect tens down to more mixed responses, EA confirmed earlier this year that the game didn’t perform anywhere near its expectations.
For many, the $49.99 / £49.99 asking price will have been a major barrier. Forking out that amount of money on a game which garnered mixed reviews isn’t an easy sell, making a purchase unjustifiable by proxy.
In what feels like an attempt to repair this, Dragon Age The Veilguard has been slashed in price on Steam, down to just $24.99 / £24.99 – 50% off the initial release price. This might just put the game back on the map as, at a much more affordable price point, it’s easier to justify picking up the game.
You can also get 50% off of Dragon Age The Veilguard Deluxe edition, which is down from $69.99 / £69.99 to $34.99 / £34.99. This gives you access to a range of cosmetic armor and weapon sets. The sale runs until Thursday March 27.
