The team achieved this incredible feat after defeating Team Aster in the Upper Brackets of the ongoing WePlay AniMajor. Although Team Aster have also qualified for the tournament despite the loss, thanks to Nigma’s win against Virtus.Pro.
Their head coach Park ‘March’ Taewon had a few words to share.
“It is a great honor to be heading to TI and play against some of the best teams in the DOTA2 scene. The team has been playing their best and I hope that we win the title and prove that T1 is the best.”
Joe Marsh, CEO of T1, also said that he was proud of the Dota 2 team taking part in one of the biggest competitions. He also believes that T1 with their current form can win the tournament.
T1 have played some incredible Dota in the past few months. The Southeast Asia team topped the DPC Season 2 and grabbed a seat in the Upper Brackets of AniMajor. Their recent match against Chinese team Aster is a splendid example of how confident T1 is feeling from their recent success.
