ESTNN covers all the highlights from the Gamers Galaxy Invitational Series Dubai 2022 Playoffs LB matches.

We see BOOM Esports play exceptionally well in the Lower Bracket of the tournament. They produced a few upsets and can go all the way to win the tournament. On the other side of the road, we saw Team Spirit who played a decent series, but couldn’t manage to live up to the expectation of TI Champions. (However, circumstances have not been the same for every Dota 2 team, and with everything happening in the CIS region, it’s understandable why Spirit might under perform.)

Unfortunately, Nigma also struggled to continue their form, as we’ll see in the recaps below.

Team Spirit Vs BOOM Esports

Game-1

BOOM were aggressive from the start of the first match. At around 12 minutes, they were 3k gold ahead. Spirit were also making counter plays, but it wasn’t as effective as BOOM’s decisions to take fights. A 5k gold lead at 20 minutes meant BOOM were comfortable. After 25 minutes, they prepared to take objectives around the map. Mountain of advantage and no space to come back stranded Team Spirit who lost the match in under 34 minutes. The ending scoreline was 33 minutes.

Game-2

The second match had Spirit in the lead under 12 minutes. Near the 14-minute mark, they were 4k gold ahead. However, BOOM were far from behind. Their lineup had enough chase and killing potential to turn the game in the early to mid game stage. At around 18-minutes, BOOM were close to Spirit in net worth and had more kills on the board. Unable to deal with the burst damage and chase from BOOM, Spirit were on the back foot. Around 25 minutes, BOOM took the Aegis and crushed Team Spirit to qualify for the Lower Bracket Finals. The scoreline at the end was 12-26 in 29 minutes.

Nigma Galaxy Vs BOOM Esports

Game-1

The first match saw a surprise pick from Amer “Miracle-“ Al-Barkawi, playing Nature’s Prophet mid for Nigma. BOOM had a good plan and took advantage after an Aegis at around 15 minutes in the game. Nigma had a net worth advantage, but BOOM were clearly looking strong. Just before 30 minutes, BOOM won a huge fight and took a good lead. The ending scoreline was 21-40 in BOOM’s favor.

Game-2

We saw nice picks from Nigma in the second match. BOOM picked Medusa, but Nigma had Anti Mage to counter it. BOOM were trailing in the early game and they couldn’t recover. At around 17 minutes, Nigma got themselves an Aegis and the quick pace of their play was pressurizing BOOM. Both teams were not far apart, but Nigma were looking better. As the match continued, Nigma gained more net worth, and the gap was more noticeable. BOOM could not defend high ground and lost 34-42 in about 49 minutes.

Game-3

Nigma started the third match actively. However, BOOM were up for the challenge and responded well. At around 14 minutes, BOOM were ahead by 3k gold and their position kept getting better. With a substantial lead, BOOM pushed high ground. The late game saw Nigma struggling for a way to get back into the game. BOOM were 13k ahead in net worth at 34 minutes and also had Roshan in the bag. Nigma lost 14-32 in 39 minutes. BOOM played signature SEA Dota 2 and qualified for the Grand Finals.
