Here are some of the most exciting things that happened in the EU this week.
The fourth week of the DPC in Western Europe has come to an end. This means that we have a few more series ahead of us before we get to know which teams will attend the second Major of this year’s DPC. For now, it seems like Alliance and Team Liquid are the main contenders. However, there are several important series to watch before that.
We break down this week’s series and check out the most interesting one in our series highlight.
Lower Division
Level Up showed yet again why they are considered to be one of the favorites in the LD. The team had no problems against Hippomaniacs and are now second, just below Vikin.gg.
The second series of the week was between Team Bald Reborn and Into The Breach. We expected it to be interesting, so we weren’t surprised when game one continues nearly an hour. Although ITB played pretty well, Janne “Gorgc” Stefanovsk and the rest of his teammates managed to secure the victory.
The second challenge of the week ahead of Level Up was against No Bounty Hunter. This definitely wasn’t easy because No BH is a dangerous team capable of ripping through its opponents. Despite winning the second game of the series, LVLUP ripped through their opponents in game three after just 21 minutes of play, which secured them the victory.
Chicken Fighters vs Ghost Frogs was one of the most intriguing series of the week. The second game between the two squads lasted more than 70 minutes. Needless to say, this makes it one of the oldest games of the DPC so far. Although CF had a few opportunities to win, GF managed to claim the victory and the series.
The last series in the LD was between Into The Breach and Hippomaniacs. As expected, Jason Connor “TANNER” Weedon and the other team members had no problems and managed to win the series after a quick 2:0.

Upper Division
Even though Anathan “ana” Pham joined OG yet again, the two-time TI winners are struggling to show their prowess. The team was unable to defeat Tundra, despite the dominant game one. Oliver “skiter” Lepko and his team managed to take the next two games in their favor, which means that OG still has a lot of work to do if they want to attend the Major.
The second surprise of the week was the series between Brame and Alliance. Nikolay “Nikobaby” Nikolov and his teammates are currently one of the best-performing teams in the DPC. They haven’t lost a single series so far until Brame managed to defeat them. Everyone thought that the third game between the two would go in favor of Alliance because they had Spectre. However, Brame’s Morphling was able to carry his team to victory.
HellBear Smashers and Nigma are not performing that well so far, but TI 7 champions definitely gained some confidence after this series. Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi managed to help his team, which got a clean 0-2 victory.
The series between Team Liquid and Tundra was fascinating to watch because both teams played well. TL got the lead in the series after a very dominant performance in game one. Tundra managed to bounce back and equalize the series, but game three also favored Max “qojqva” Bröcker and his team.

Highlight Series: Team Secret vs OG
This week’s most exciting series was between the two European powerhouses – Team Secret and OG. Needless to say, the two teams are often regarded as one of the best in the world, which means that the clashes between them are always amazing.
It seems like Team Secret is having a lot of issues lately because they are not performing as well as before. After losing a few series that they should’ve won, Clement “Puppey” Ivanov and his teammates couldn’t defeat the mighty OG.
The first game between the two was very intense. After a relatively calm laning stage, we saw a lot of action in the mid-game. Secret’s lineup was really deadly, so they tried to participate in loads of fights. On the other hand, the two times TI champions relied on Anathan “ana” Pham and his amazing Juggernaut. Even though OG’s Drow Ranger plus four melee pick looked odd, the team was able to take the victory after a series of fantastic team fights.
Following the loss, Team Secret changed their draft for the second game. They’ve decided to pick Zeus, who is thought to be one of the biggest nukers in the game. Sadly, their tactic didn’t work because they got their hands on the classic Alchemist and PL draft. After around 42 minutes of high-quality Dota, Johan “N0tail” Sundstein and the other superstars finally delivered their knock-out punch.
After yet another heavy loss, it will be really difficult for Team Secret to bounce back and receive a direct invitation for the Major.
