Does Path of Exile 2 have crossplay? Grinding Gear’s immensely expansive dungeon crawler is on the horizon, and the studio’s looking to go bigger and better than its predecessor in every conceivable way. The original PoE lacked crossplay between PC and console, and it’s been high on the wishlists for many, ourselves included.

The good news is that Grinding Gear’s already confirmed crossplay is coming to Path of Exile 2, but is it full-featured or the same half-baked iteration as PoE 1’s? Below, we’ll take you through everything you need to know about how crossplay works in the RPG, and how PoE 2 cross-progression will keep you working on your suped-up PoE 2 classes regardless of where you’re playing.

Does Path of Exile 2 have crossplay?

Yes, Path of Exile 2 has full crossplay compatibility, meaning you’ll be able to play with friends and family across PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. The feature will be available in early access.

This is a marked improvement from the previous PoE which only allowed PC and Mac users to play with each other, as was the case with PlayStation and Xbox. Now, Wraeclast won’t know what hit it when you and the squad roll up.

Adding friends across platforms should be a simple matter of tapping in their username and sending off a request. As a reminder, PoE 2 has a maximum party size of six, continuing the trend set by its predecessor.

Does Path of Exile 2 have cross-progression?

Yes, Path of Exile 2 has cross-progression. All progress you make on one platform will carry over when you log in on another, so you can access your characters, be it from your desk or on the couch. The feature will be available in early access.

Grinding Gear has also confirmed there’ll be interplay between your PoE 1 and 2 accounts, as all microtransactions you’ve put your hand into your pocket for will work across both games. The Path of Exile 2 release date had to be pushed back because of the sheer amount of server-side work going into making it happen, but it’ll certainly be worth it.
