Does Helldivers 2 have crossplay? While the original was a top-down twin-stick shooter, Helldivers 2 is a third-person action game where you blast away hordes of alien threats to save humanity from destruction. But even with the sheer amount of power you have at your disposal, including devastating orbital beams that can rip apart colossal arachnids, it helps to have someone watching your back.

Fortunately, Helldivers 2 crossplay lets console and PC users experience the game together. Don’t forget to check out the Helldivers 2 system requirements as you may need to pick up the PlayStation 5 version if your PC isn’t up to spec. For those looking to play the co-op game with their buddies, here is all the info we have on crossplay functionality for Helldivers 2.

Will Helldivers 2 support crossplay?

Helldivers 2 will support crossplay between PC and PlayStation 5 users at launch. This was confirmed in a PlayStation Blog post that also detailed the PC version’s minimum and recommended specs.

In the PlayStation Blog post, there’s a trailer that shows off the drop-in, drop-out multiplayer. After killing some aliens, two PC party members leave the game abruptly. The remaining player puts out a distress beacon that causes two PlayStation players to respond to the call.

No matter which device you use, everyone must have a PlayStation Network account to play Helldivers 2 on PC via Steam. If you’ve already got a PlayStation Network account, you should be able to log into the game to get started. However, even with this requirement being confirmed on the Helldivers 2 Steam page, it’s unclear if this also means that cross-progression will also be available across both devices.

And there it is, confirmation that Helldivers 2 crossplay support is supported at launch. If you wish to play the action-adventure game with Valve’s handheld gaming device, you may want to brush up on our Helldivers 2 Steam Deck compatibility to see if you might run into any issues.
