Oscar-nominated screenwriter, director, and producer Neill Blomkamp has joined Gunzilla Games as the studio’s new chief visionary officer to work on an unannounced multiplayer shooter for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Windows 10.Neill Blomkamp, the director we have to thank for movies such as District 9, Elysium, Chappie, and the upcoming Demonic movie, has joined Gunzilla Games as the studios’ new chief visionary officer, to assist in defining the team’s vision for a yet unannounced multiplayer AAA shooter to eventually launch on Xbox Series X|S consoles.When describing the title in the press release, Blomkamp says that the team’s working on “creating a new, exciting multiplayer AAA shooter game that pushes the boundaries of gameplay, player freedom, customization options as well as narrative experience within the shooter genre. “When speaking about what he is bringing to the production of this new title, Blomkamp states that by merging his experience in filmmaking and everything video game technology offers, the team hopes to “create an immersive experience like we’ve never seen before.”“We all share the same vision, and Neill is the perfect completion to the narrative and visual art lead roles in our team,” says Vlad Korolov, CEO, and co-founder of Gunzilla Games. “While we are creating our own universe, some of our inspiration originates in his works. We always hoped we can add a bit of his magic to our game – now this is happening.” It’s certainly one way to inject the game’s inspiration directly into the title, and we’ll be keeping a close eye on the game’s development.
