Disney Dreamlight Valley confirms option to remove villagers and details multiplayer mode

Tomorrow’s a big day for Dreamlight Valley: the game leaves early access, gets the new Pumpkin King Returns update, and drops the Rift in Time expansion. Most notably, the Pumpkin King Returns update confirms what we’d been hoping when we learned that the Disney Dreamlight Valley expansion lets you boot unwanted villagers out of town, adding the option to add or remove villagers. There’s also the new multiplayer Valley Visits mode!The Pumpkin King Returns update adds Jack Skellington with new quests and items and the new Royal Winter Star Path. It also adds the new multiplayer mode, Valley Visits, which lets you “hang out, share items, and collect new Pixel Shards to craft powerful cooking and crafting buffs!” That’s according to Gameloft’s patch notes, which also confirm that the update will let you “have more control over your Valley with the ability to add and remove Villagers using the map menu. Please note that villagers will always appear in your village if required for a quest.” It’s good to see this clarification, as some players were concerned that we’d only be able to remove houses and not villagers themselves.You can check out the full patch notes below, as per Gameloft’s site.New content and improvements: Get ready to welcome the Pumpkin King to your Valley! On the same day, Disney Dreamlight Valley will leave early access — but not as a free-to-play game. It’s not yet too clear how this works with the game on Game Pass.Looking ahead, we have a new Realm Door opening (and it looks like it’s Monsters Inc we’re getting), before 2024 brings us a new villager, a new realm, another new princess, and more.No sign of new Disney Dreamlight Valley achievements though. We’ll keep an eye out.
