Diablo 4 will have a public test realm for Season 4 ahead of its launch. Blizzard revealed that a PTR will be available on PC in the coming weeks, letting players provide feedback on some of the changes in the upcoming season.

As shared during a recent campfire chat, a PTR for Diablo 4 Season 4 will be available in the coming weeks to let Blizzard test the numerous changes coming in the next season. While the developer did not share details on some of the changes set for Season 4, it did say that there are some large changes coming to stats and rewards. With there being so many changes, Blizzard felt a PTR was necessary, despite not having used one for any of the game’s first three seasons.

The PTR will be available exclusively via the Battle.net version of Diablo 4 on PC and will start ahead of the Season 4 launch. This means that the PTR will go live with a few weeks left in Season 3 of Diablo 4, giving Blizzard time to react to the feedback coming from the players. The developer said that not every season will have a public test realm ahead of launch, only seasons that feature enough big changes that testing feels required.

The PTR will not be under a non-disclosure agreement and players who participate will be allowed to stream their gameplay and share details, giving a pretty in-depth look at Season 4 earlier than past seasons. Blizzard also asked for the community to provide feedback on how it introduces new legendary aspects and uniques. Previously, Blizzard would only release them when every class had one ready, but now wants to just release those items when they are ready for one class.

Blizzard said it would provide more details about the PTR in another campfire chat in the next few weeks. Season 3 of Diablo 4 ends on April 16, with Season 4 likely launching the same day. In the same chat Blizzard provided an in-depth look at Gauntlets, which are coming next week.
