Destiny 2 Game Director Joe Blackburn Confirms He’s Leaving Bungie Soon

Joe Blackburn, who served as the director of Destiny 2, has revealed that he will be departing developer Bungie next month.The news comes as Bungie is set to conduct the ‘end-to-end playtest’ for Destiny 2: The Final Shape expansion, which launches in Summer 2024.Heading into this milestone, I’ve gotten to play hundreds of hours of The Final Shape, and what the world-class talent here at Bungie has created has quickly become of the things I’m most proud to have worked on throughout my career. Green later worked on a number of title at Bungie, and was heavily involved in both Halo 3, Destiny, and Destiny 2. If you’ve followed Bungie for any length of time, you’ve heard his name.
