Keon Deetman, CEO of Deliver Us Mars developer KeokeN Interactive, has confirmed that the studio is having to make a number of layoffs, with four people being let go out of its core team of 19 employees.Taking to Twitter, Deetman revealed that the layoffs come in wake of a cut in pay for for management, so much so that they were not paid in the past few months in an attempt to offset losses.Sadly, we’ve had to lay off 4 of our core team of 19 this month. This was decided after Paul and I as management already took significant pay cuts, even to the extent of not taking any salary at all the past few months. As leaders, when you are blessed to decide, plan or do things from the company’s top, you are also burdened with taking the first hit when things get tough. At least, that’s what Paul and I have always naturally drifted towards in rough waters. We try to protect the team as long as humanly possible. That is our most important responsibility as studio directors.Related Content – Upcoming PS5 Games 2024: The Best PS5 Games Coming SoonThis year has already seen an alarming number of layoffs at major companies, with Sony only this week confirming that it is reducing its global workforce, with includes the closure of SIE London Studio.[Source – Keon Deetman on Twitter]
