Superstar wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins just hinted he may retire after learning of the new NFL vaccine policy.
Superstar Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins has come in from out of nowhere and delivered quite the message on Twitter. On Thursday, news broke that teams could end up having to forfeit games if they have a COVID outbreak. It’d of course have major implications for teams trying to make the playoffs.
After hearing this news, Hopkins has come out and said publicly that he’s now questioning his future in the NFL. Could the speedster actually end up hanging up his cleats and retiring before the campaign arrives?
DeAndre Hopkins didn’t hold back in saying his NFL future is now up in the air
This sure is a massive statement from Hopkins. Several players have voiced their displeasure on Twitter, but Hopkins appears to be the first to say that he might actually end up not playing anymore over the announcement.
When Hopkins is on the field, there’s no denying he’s one of the best wideouts in the game. Now that he’s in his second season with the Cardinals catching balls from Kyler Murray, the team is hoping to compete for an NFC West title. And with more than $60 million remaining on his contract, it’s impossible to think Hopkis would legitimately walk away.
With that said, Hopkins is furious right now and he’s clearly got some serious thinking to do before training camp arrives. It he actually does sit out this season, it’d be a devastating blow for Arizona.
