Deals: It’s not too late to get a free storage upgrade on the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6

Pre-orders for Samsung’s new foldables ended this Wednesday and the two are now on open sale – this means that Samsung.com is no longer offering the pre-order deals.

However, Amazon still offers a free storage upgrade for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6, meaning that you get the 512GB model for $1,900. On top of that, the retailer is including a $300 Amazon Gift Card.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 also has a free storage upgrade to 512GB from Amazon and it comes with a $200 Amazon Gift Card.

Before buying the Z Flip6, check out Motorola’s competitors. During Prime Day sales, the 2023 Motorola razr was down to $333. Such a deal isn’t coming back soon, but the year-old clamshell foldable is currently $400, which is still a really low price for a foldable.

The current Motorola razr 2024 sells for $700 with no discounts. It has a usable 3.4” cover display (vs. line display) and a better but still not great Dimensity 7300X chipset (vs. Snapdragon 7 Gen 1).

You may be better off with the Motorola razr+ 2023. The year old flagship is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, which leaves the mid-range Dimensity in its rear view mirror, and has the same 3.6” cover display as the razr 2024.

A new unit costs $600, $100 less than the razr 2024, but you can also pick up a renewed unit for $450.

For completeness’ sake, here is the Motorola razr+ 2024. This one features the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset and has a 50MP 2x telephoto lens, unlike the Z Flip6 and the other razrs.

Samsung discovered some issues with the Galaxy Buds3 Pro, but the vanilla Galaxy Buds3 use a different design, which appears to be unaffected. A new pair of Buds3 comes with a free Clip Case included.

If you don’t like the stem design – or don’t like the price – of the Buds3, you can grab the Galaxy Buds FE for less than half as much.

If you still don’t care about foldables, the Galaxy A35 is Samsung’s mid-ranger of choice for the States.

However, for $50 more you can pick up the OnePlus 12R. It has a higher quality display (6.78” LTPO 1.5K vs. 6.6” FHD+), much faster chipset (SD 8 Gen 2 vs. Exynos 1380) and better battery (5,500mAh 80W vs. 5,000mAh 25W). There are some downsides too, e.g. the A35 is more water resistant (IP67 vs. IP64) and has a microSD slot.

Nothing’s new CMF Phone 1 is proving to be super popular in Europe and India, but it’s also available in the US – kind of. It’s part of the US Beta Program and since it wasn’t designed for this market, network compatibility is spotty.

Some T-Mobile 5G bands are supported, but not all so the phone might drop to 4G quite often, depending on where you live. AT&T’s 5G bands aren’t supported at all, so it’s all 4G. The phone is not usable on Verizon.

If you want to experience CMF’s design, we’d recommend getting the new watch or buds instead of the phone. The CMF Watch Pro 2 has a swappable bezel and straps for a customizable look. It has a 1.32” 466 x 466px 60Hz round OLED display, an IP68 rating and a built-in GPS (with support for Strava, Google Health Connect and Apple Health). The watch promises up to 11 days of typical usage (9 days heavy usage).

The CMF Buds Pro 2 have a unique feature – the case has a dial that lets you control the volume. A real, physical dial, which is much more precise and reliable than touch controls. There’s another reason to have a look at the CMF buds – you don’t normally expect a dual driver design (11mm dynamic drivers + 6mm planar tweeters) on $60 buds. With LDAC support and ANC (up to 50dB noise reduction), these are surprisingly capable.

We may get a commission from qualifying sales.
