The Dead Space rumour mill has fired up once more, thanks to a new report that states the alleged reboot of the series will be a “full-fledged” remake inspired by Capcom’s Resident Evil remakes. The news comes from VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb, who first claimed that EA Motive was working on bringing back the Dead Space IP. Gematsu previously reported that it had heard from a separate source to Grubb that the new Dead Space game would actually be a “reimagining rather than a sequel to the existing trilogy.”Grubb says that EA Motive is “taking notes from Capcom’s recent Resident Evil remakes.” The Dead Space remake will reportedly use the original game as a foundation, will have modern visuals, and will “likely bring in new gameplay mechanics inspired by other entries in the franchise.”EA recently updated the Dead Space YouTube channel after it lay dormant for nearly a decade, and with all these rumours floating around, it seems that something is likely in the works. We’ll hopefully get confirmation of a new Dead Space during EA Play Live on July 22nd.
