Dead Rails has a few points of interest along its route. The Tesla Lab and its brain in a jar, Fort Constitution and its wanted Captain, the Castle and its outrageous number of werewolves. Now there’s a new one. The Dead Rails Town Of Sterling is a seemingly abandoned place, with a terrible secret. Let’s get into the details.

If you’re eager to begin your own search for Sterling, head over to Dead Rails on Roblox. If you want to stick around, maybe take a look at our Dead Rails Horsing Around guide to find out about the April Fools content.

Dead Rails Town Of Sterling Guide

First things first, finding the town.

How To Find Sterling

Sterling, like Fort Constitution, the Tesla Lab, and The Castle is a structure that only appears once along the route. What distance you’re likely to find it at can vary, though whenever we’ve see it, it’s spawned on the left side, it’s a small settlement up against a large mountain, so check the bottom of mountains when you see them.

The Town

The Town is a bunch of abandoned buildings. Zombies don’t spawn in Sterling, so if you arrive during the day the town is remarkably safe to loot. Even better, you can find Bonds in nearly all the houses, so make sure to stop and pick those up while you’re there.

Aside from the Bonds, there are two other items in the town. If you just want to grab the Bonds and go, you could ignore these, or use them for other purposes, but you will need them if you want to raid the Mines.

  • A Torch, found in the Sheriff’s Office.
  • A Jade Tablet, found in the Church, behind the altar.

If you’re eager to keep going and face the really dangerous side of Sterling, then you can grab these and head over to the Mines.

The Sterling Mines

If you head behind the church you’ll see a boarded tunnel and a few minecarts. This is the entrance to the Sterling Mines. It gets a little more complicated from here, so we’ve broken it down into sections.

  • To enter The Mines you need to use dynamite to blow up the barrier. There are two dynamite at the entrance. Place one and light it with the torch, then retreat well back. Save the second one for later, you’ll need it.
  • The mine is a maze of tunnels full of gold and silver nuggets. It’s also full of constantly respawning skeletons and TNT zombies. You’ll never reach the end of these, so you will need to run in and do what you need to do with them hassling you.
  • There are two major artifacts hidden inside the mine, the Jade Mask and the Jade Sword.
  • The Jade Mask lets you resurrect a dead player. It is hidden behind the barrier at the back of the mine. You need to blow this barrier up with dynamite like you did at the entrance. It’s surrounded by treasure, which is free to take; however, if you pick up the Jade Mask, it will summon several werewolves behind you. For this reason, we’d recommend only picking this up at the end, when you’re ready to leave. So, maybe get the Jade Sword first if you want it.
  • The Jade Sword requires collecting three Jade Tablets from around Sterling and the mine.
    • If you are following this guide, you should have one.
    • The second is off a branching path on the left-hand path into the mine, hidden behind a minecart.
    • The third is in the Jade Mask room.
  • Once you have the tablets, there is a door in the center of the mine covered by a stack of barrels, which you’ll need to move out of the way. Once you’re in, drop the Jade Tablets on the red platform in the room. This should open up a vault with lots of treasure, Bonds, and the Jade Sword, a rare and magical melee weapon.
