There’s a new product in the Doctor’s Shop. It’s called Snake Oil, which isn’t the most trustworthy name, we’ll admit. So is it useful or a big scam to part you from your unicorn-selling money? That’s what our Dead Rails Snake Oil guide should enlighten you about.

You can play Dead Rails right now on Roblox. If you’d like some help getting started with the game, maybe take a look at our guide on how to play Dead Rails.

Right, let’s explain.

What Does Snake Oil Do?

Snake Oil is a super beneficial tonic that’s great in a tight spot. Like bandages, it sits in your hotbar, where you can equip and use it.

Drink it to immediately refill your health to full. That’s not all it has to offer though. Drinking it gives you a few seconds of considerably boosted speed. It’s only a short buff, but more than enough to get some distance between you and whatever is chasing you.

How To Get Snake Oil

It’s a great buff, but how do you get it? Well it’s actually not that complicated. You can pick up Snake Oil in forts, at Doctor shops. They’re sat on a table opposite the bandages. A bottle of Snake Oil costs $35, this is about the same cost as a revolver.

Is it worth it? We can definitely recommend the Snake Oil for getting out of a difficult situation, though it probably shouldn’t be your top priority as purchases go. You should probably use your starting money to grab coal, a revolver, and some ammo.

Once you have made enough money to have a bit more wiggle room, Snake Oil is a good investment, and probably superior to bandages despite the higher price. You can also find bandages as loot, making them less of a priority purchase.
