The weather is turning a bit more hazardous in Dead Rails. While you might know how to handle the monsters and the outlaws, our Dead Rails Lightning guide is all about how to survive the forces of nature, through ingenuity, or divine intervention.

Dead Rails is all free to play over on Roblox. If you want to learn the basics, we have a guide on how to play Dead Rails.

Dead Rails Lightning Guide

First let’s explain lightning storms, then a few ways you can stay safe.

About Lightning Storms

Lightning storms are one of the possible night events that can happen after sunset every day. The other current night events are fast zombies, vampires, and werewolves. You can tell a night will be a lightning storm night, because the sky will get a blue hue around the horizon. Check our feature image to see what that looks like.

During a storm, lightning will hit the ground in random places around you. If you happen to be hit by one of these bolts… well.. just try not to get hit by one of these bolts.

How To Deal With Lightning Storms

Lightning is a little more tricky to deal with than the enemy-based events in the sense that you cannot simply shoot your way out of the danger. However, there are a number of ways you can limit or even eliminate the danger lightning poses.

  • Cover – If there’s a roof between you and the lightning, you’ll escape a strike without damage. So, staying inside or under some other firm of cover will keep you safe. At worst you can wait the night out inside the train or inside a fort building.
  • The Lightning Rod – The Lightning Rod is a useful item that attracts lightning towards it when used, but negates any damage, perfect if you do need to step into the open.
  • Priest Immunity – The new Priest class is immune to lightning damage, so if you have that class equipped you can stroll around in a storm with zero concerns.
