Mortal Kombat 1 hasn’t seen a new character since Quan Chi just before Christmas, but the next fighter is almost ready to keep the peace. DC Comics’ Peacemaker–with John Cena reprising the role in both voice and likeness–will be exploding onto the MK1 scene later this month.
A post on X from the official Mortal Kombat account confirmed that Peacemaker will join the playable roster on February 28 for those with early access–which includes those who purchased the game’s premium editions or Kombat Pass. The standalone character will be available soon after, though the specific date was not announced.
John Cena, who plays Peacemaker in both the Suicide Squad film and the Peacemaker HBO Max series, will provide both voice acting and his likeness for the character, as was teased at the end of the Quan Chi character trailer.
Peacemaker will be the third downloadable fighter from the Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pass to join the game, with Omni-Man kicking things off in November and Quan Chi following him in December. His arrival will be only the second-ever video game appearance for the character–the first was Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure in 2013.
Mortal Kombat 1 is available now on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The Kombat Pass can be purchased separately or as part of the Premium Edition on all platforms.
