Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams was charged with misdemeanor assault for his attack on a cameraman in Kansas City.
Davante Adams has been charged with misdemeanor assault for his attack on a cameraman after the Raiders’ loss to the Chiefs Monday night. Adams was frustrated with his teammate Hunter Renfrow over the final play of the game against the Kansas City Chiefs, and he appeared to take it out on the innocent cameraman. His consequences from the NFL haven’t been announced yet, but he’ll have to deal with the police first.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network shared a document detailing the charge and wrote, “Here are the court records of #Raiders WR Davante Adams being charged with misdemeanor assault following the post-game shove.”
It’s good to see the results of this, as Adams should be held accountable. It was an attack on someone who didn’t do anything.
He’s facing consequences from several places and more are likely to follow.
The consequences Raiders WR Davante Adams is facing are stacking up
Adams is now officially facing legal consequences, but while the situation was still under investigation, he was banned from a Kansas City amusement park, Worlds of Fun.
Hopefully, the NFL will take action against him as well. It wouldn’t be surprising considering the severity of the incident. But there are official NFL members close to him stepping up to defend him.
Coach Josh McDaniels spoke highly of Adams to ESPN. According to Paul Gutierrez, McDaniels stated, “I support Davante wholeheartedly as a human being. As a person, he’s a great guy. I know that was an unfortunate situation. We obviously don’t want any of our guys to be doing anything like that. He knows that. He’s very well aware of that. But I know the person; I don’t think there was any intent behind it, on his part. But whatever [the NFL] asks of us, whatever they need from us, obviously we’ll comply. But we’re kind of in a wait-and-see [situation] at this point.”
Adams could’ve caused serious injury from his actions and it shouldn’t be taken lightly. He deserves to face the consequences.
