Darren Elkins weathers a rough first round before rallying back and defeating Darrick Minner at UFC Vegas 32
Even at 37 years old, Darren Elkins continues to show he can still compete and break down opposing fighters, as he defeated a gassed-out Darrick Minner at UFC Vegas 32.
The two fought in close at the start, with Minner landing some powerful shots before Elkins forced them to the cage. From there, it was a battle of ground control and submission attempts, with Minner locking in three submission attempts within the first half of the first round. Minner got the better of Elkins on the ground, staying in top control for most of the round and troubling Elkins on more than one occasion in the first five minutes.

Minner scored a takedown right out of the gate to open round two. Elkins managed to get back to his feet while working a guillotine, but Minner slipped out and got the fight back to the mat. Minner went for another submission but Elkins got out and reversed position.
Elkins got on top and rained down punches on an exhausted Minner to finish the fight.
